This place should sell and be remade into a Smith's. There, at least, people are friendly and largely happy with their jobs. I can't go in here without hearing employees complain about how bad management is, how few issues are ever tackled, and the bias of favoritism.
We LOVE Kents. We especially love how fresh their produce is and the sales they offer on local product. Their meat department is always stocked. They have done recent renovations and keep the restrooms clean.
Management is incompetent, at best; the only one who's ever helped me effectively is Brian. Mary and Lisa are the only genuinely nice ones at CS, and all the other ladies act like it's a big inconvenince to help a customer.
Self-checkout is mediocre, even though I really like the little girl with the glasses. She's nice and very helpful, and I just smile when I walk in and she's on shift.
I used to enjoy shopping here; now I'm in and out as fast as possible, and I'll try Ridley's before thinking twice about visiting these people.
If it's that bad - and it seems to be - they should complain!
You've heard of Narnia, Asgard, and Atlantis. Magical places spoken of only in myths and legends. Kent's is not one of those places sure, Kent's has chocolate milk that costs less than regular milk. Sure, Kent's has a pound of bacon for a dollar. But Kent's is not a fantastic, imaginary magical Wonderland.
This is my go to Grocery store for Northern Box Elder County. I use this store for my pharmacy needs as well as grocery. The meat department rocks, and the fresh fruits and veggies are always in good shape. The owners try and keep the store fresh and updated, and they have been around a long time, so just like the song says, "Everyone knows your name."
Kent's is real.
I can only think of two or three long-time checkers that I enjoy. The newer girls are nice, but it's easy to tell they're afraid of someone or something.
Produce and deli and meat are great, but that alone won't save a sinking ship. The store as a whole was so much more friendly before the remodel, and the atmosphere was better. They may have added renovations, new products, and self-service, but the same ineffective management is going to tank this place eventually.
Awesome local store.. old time flavor with a modern appeal. Nice to visit a grocery store with consumer centric costumer service. They try to exceed your expectations.. very friendly, professional, fast service!
